New Delhi - Prime Minister Narendra Modi told leaders of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Tuesday that India has entered a full-fledged “Reform Express” phase, characterised by rapid, intent-driven, and citizen-centric governance reforms, according to sources.
Addressing NDA MPs, the Prime Minister said that the government’s reforms are aimed not just at boosting economic activity or increasing revenue, but at fundamentally improving the daily lives of ordinary citizens.
“Our goal is to remove everyday hurdles faced by people so they can realise their full potential,” he said, urging MPs to relay ground-level problems brought to them by citizens so the government can resolve them promptly.
PM Modi emphasised that the administration is committed to eliminating bureaucratic obstacles, including lengthy forms, repetitive paperwork, and outdated processes. He said the vision is to create a system in which government services are delivered at people’s doorsteps, removing the need to repeatedly submit the same information to different departments.
He reminded MPs of the government’s earlier decision to allow self-certification for various schemes and services, noting that this policy was based on trust in citizens — a trust that has remained steady for a decade with no significant misuse.
Reiterating that *Ease of Life* and *Ease of Doing Business* are core priorities, the Prime Minister said ongoing reforms aim to make governance faster, simpler, and more transparent, ensuring that benefits reach households efficiently and without delay.
Earlier in the meeting, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said NDA MPs congratulated PM Modi on the alliance’s historic victory in the Bihar Assembly elections.
Speaking to reporters afterward, Rijiju said, “At the Parliamentary Party meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was felicitated with a victory garland and congratulated by all NDA leaders for the tremendous win in Bihar.”
He added that the Prime Minister also gave guidance on how MPs should work effectively for their constituencies and regions.
