Ranchi: Independent MLA from Jamshedpur East Saryu Rai demanded that ‘care-taker’ Chief Minister Raghubar Das before stepping down should come out with a white paper on the economic condition of the state.
Mr Rai has demanded that Mr Das should give details of the funds received under his tenure from central assistance and how much money has been taken as borrowing from financial institutions. Moreover, he has also demanded that details of income from tax and non-tax sources.
Mr Rai has sought details from the government regarding the loan burden on the state between 2015- 19 and also regarding the number of schemes which were framed every year and the amount which was spent by the government.
He said that in reality the state exchequer has become empty and the finance department is facing problems to even manage funds for meeting day to day expenses.
He said that the state government employees are not getting their payment on time and even payment worth thousands of crores are pending.
He said that this year the state government has framed a budget of Rs 80 crore despite not having the capacity to spend more than Rs 60 crore, similarly the planned budget was pegged at Rs 44,000 crore which was later reduced to Rs 33,000 crore but in reality more than Rs 25,000 crore can not be spent.
Saryu Rai said that the Raghubar government is going to handover a bankrupt economy to the new government which will come into power in the next two days.
He said that if under the double engine government the economy of the state has become bankrupt than what would happen in the future is a big question and demanded Mr Das to come out with a white paper as how the condition of the state economy reached to such low levels.
