Cold wave grips state after clouds make way for clear skies

Ranchi: As the clouds gave way to clear and sunny sky on Friday morning the chill was back in the evening as coldwave made the people shiver to force them to retire back to the comforts of their homes.

Director of the local MET department Dr SD Kotal said that over the next 3-4 days early mornings would be full of fog and the temperature in the night will be falling down by 2-4 degree Celsius further some regions of the state can also witness light to medium fog cover.

As per the predictions made by the MET department till January 2 some of the regions of the state are likely to remain under the grip of cold waves whereas in the week-ends light rainfall can take place in South-Eastern regions of the state.

The Weather from January 3-9 has been predicted to remain normal. Dr Kotal said that across the state the maximum and the minimum temperature will come down than normal range. As the cold has intensified in the state capital Ranchi DC Rai Mahimpet Rey has directed all the private schools to commence classes from 0900hrs.
