Dreaded Maoist Kundan Pahan to file nominations from Tamar on Monday

Ranchi: Dreaded maoist Kundan Pahan who is accused in more than 120 cases including those related to the murder of former minister Ramesh Singh Munda will be filing his nominations from the Tamar seat as a candidate of the Jharkhand Party.

On November 11 he was granted permission by the special NIA court to contest the Assembly Elections in the state. The court of special NIA judge Navneet Kumar had granted permission to Pahan to file his nominations. Pahan has plans to contest the seat as an independent but is now the nominee of the Jharkhand Party.

Interestingly for the Tamar seat Kundan Pahan who is currently lodged at Hazaribagh jail will be pitted against Raja Peter who is also in jail and has filed his nominations for the seat. Others who are also in the fray from Tamar are sitting MLA Vikas Singh Munda and Prakash Chandra Oraon.

Kundan Pahan had surrendered before the state police on May 14, 2017. He has been accused of the murder of MP Sunil Mahto, former minister and MLA Ramesh Singh Munda, Bundu DSP Pramod Kumar and 5 other policemen and inspector of special branch Francis Indevaar.
