
Bokaro: Jharkhand Governor Draupadi Murmu has described Luguburu Ghantabadi located in Lalpania of this district as a place of great faith and belief of the Santhal Tribe and asked the members of the community to remain aware towards their traditions, culture and religion.
Addressing the concluding ceremony of the two day Sarna Mahadharm Sammelan she said that the members of the community also needed to come forward for environmental conservation in the days of global warming and said that since the tribals worship the nature, therefore, they needed to remain more alert.
Stressing in the need of the education she said that education was mandatory for the people of the community and said that it was the only tool that can remove the backwardness and bring prosperity in the region. She said that the culture and traditions of the tribals was different from others.
The governor said Jharkhand was the land of the brave hearts including Bhagwan Birsa Munda, Sidho-Kanhu and the people should be proud of them. She asked the people to visit Luguburu to offer their obeisance and called upon the members of the community to work against superstition and social evils.
The governor also used the occasion to point that many officials in the state are tribals and they should also think as to how they can reach among the people and ensure their development. She also asked the people to speak in their regional languages and said that one should never forget their mother tongue.
Election management committee has an important role in polls: Yadav Ranchi, Nov 12: Co-incharge for Vidhan Sabha polls of Jharkhand BJP Nand Kishore Yadav said that along with the workers the role of the election management committee is equally important in the polls.
State organisation general secretary Dharampal Singh also reviewed the functioning of the various departments and directed the workers to work unitedly to ensure the victory of the party in the polls.
