Improvement in sex ratio result of steps taken for women empowerment: Aarti Singh

Ranchi: State president of the Women Morcha of the BJP Aarti Singh said that it was due to the steps taken for empowerment of the women that the sex ratio in the state has increased from 951 to 996.

Addressing a press conference here she said that between 2014-18 the number of boys increased by 63,000 while the number of girls increased to 1.34 lakh which was mainly due to Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign.

She said that the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign became a social campaign under which the government took the responsibility of education, marriage and self-reliance of the girls while steps like Mukhyamantri Sukanya and Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojana turned out to be other historic steps.

She said that property in the name of the women is being registered at just Re 1 due to which now 80 percent registry was taking place in the name of the women.
