
Ranchi: Preparations are in full swing for the Ravan Dahan programme which will be held in the capital on October 8.
In the function to be held at Morabadi grounds, the effigy of Ravan will be 65 feet high, Kumbhkaran 60 feet high and that of Meghnath will be of 55 feet height. On the other hand, Lanka will be 30 feet high.
Spokesperson of the Punjabi Hindu Biradari Arun Chawla said that the effigy of Ravan will be burnt at 6 pm in which Chief Minister Raghubar Das will be present as the Chief Guest along with Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth. Apart from them many ministers, mayor and officials of the RMC will be present.
He said that the main attraction will be a performance by artists of Jharkhand including dancer Rupa Dey, singer Jyoti Sahu and Chumki Rai. He said fire workers will be done by the artist of West Bengal Dipak Pariya whereas aerial fireworks would be done by Punjabi Hindu Biradri.
