High Drama in BJP office as Sashi Bhushan Mehta joins BJP from JMM

Ranchi: A high voltage drama was witnessed at the state BJP here during the joining of JMM leader Sashi Bhushan Mehta of the JMM who is also an accused in the murder of warden of Oxford School Suchitra Mishra.

Mehta who is currently on bail in this murder case is a ticket aspirant from Panki seat of Palamu district. He had brought in his hundreds of supporters as a show of strength on the day of his joining, however, his joining turned into a controversy as the family members of the late warden and other kin too demonstrated inside the BJP office protesting against his joining.

However, things turned the ugly turn as the sons of the late warden were badly beaten inside the BJP office by the supporters of Sashi Bhushan Mehta during which senior BJP leaders including state unit Chief Laxman Giluwa remained mere spectators.

Earlier welcoming Mehta into the party Mr Giluwa said that apart from BJP in all the other parties only one family ruled. He said that BJP was the only party in which every programme slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai is raised which has made the party acceptable among the 130 crore people of the country. He said that it was due to the democracy in the party that a large number of people on a daily basis are joining BJP.

In his speech Mehta claimed that he had been influenced by the works of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Raghubar Das, therefore, he had decided to join the party.
