Bad weather forces President Ramnath Kovind to cancel his Gumla and Deoghar visits

Ranchi: President Ramnath Kovind was forced to cancel his visit to Gumla and Deoghar districts due to bad weather conditions and incessant rainfall. First, his trip to Gumla was canceled and later it was followed by Deoghar forcing him to spend the day inside the Raj Bhawan.

During his trip to Gumla President Ramnath Kovind was scheduled to visit the Takshila Ashram, he was scheduled to take a walk around the Mahatma Gandhi museum and later in the day was to spend his time with orphan children of the primitive tribes at the Gyan Niketan of Vikas Bharti.

In Deoghar which is home to Baba Baidyanath the President along with his wife was scheduled to offer prayers at the temple and was also scheduled to have a look around the premises from where he was to later reach the circuit house to have lunch and thereafter later in the afternoon was to return back to Ranchi.

On Sunday he will be participating in the convocation ceremony of the Ranchi University after which he will return back to New Delhi. Earlier President Ramnath Kovind arrived at the Birsa Munda Airport Friday evening from Bhubaneswar where he was welcomed by Governor Draupadi Murmu and Chief Minister Raghubar Das.

From the airport, he reached the Raj Bhawan along with his wife. At the Raj Bhawan, a Hi-Tea was organized in which the judges of the High Court were invited.

The 33rd Convocation ceremony of Ranchi University will be held from 10.10 am to 11.10 am at the Dikshant Mandap at the Morabadi campus of the varsity.

Among the 56 toppers of UG and PG courses, the President will give away gold medals to 11 toppers which included overall best graduate and one topper each from every stream.
