
Ranchi: A one day workshop was organized on cataract and glaucoma jointly by the Jharkhand Ophthalmological Society and Ranchi Ophthalmic Forum in collaboration with Academic Research Team of All India Ophthalmological Society.
The workshop was inaugurated by Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth. Speaking on the occasion he asked the doctors that they should work for the patients of the villages who badly need their care.
During the program recipient of BC Roy award, Dr Purendra Bhasin and other guests shared their videos related to cataract and glaucoma. In the meeting, it emerged that the premium lens which are put into the eyes of the patients for that it is important to measure the dryness and visual axis of the eyes of the patient as to when these are normal then only the premium lens can give a better result.
In the Workshop, it also emerged that glaucoma was the second biggest reason for blindness as 90 percent of the patients do not realize when they have got this disease and when the eyesight is lost then the patient realizes the disease. The experts said that when a rainbow-like impression emerges around the eyes than it can be sign of Glaucoma.
