
Saraikela: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that with a view to take Jharkhand forward in the area of arts the Mukhyamantri Udyami board has been formed under which the talented artisans have been identified and their registration has been done.
During his visit to the Makula village during which he inspected the items which had been made by the members of the self help group using bamboo he said that under the board so far 95000 artisans have been registered and its main purpose was provide training to the sculptors and artisans as per the need of the time and demand of the market and further enhance their skills.
He said that soon the bamboo products manufactured in Saraikela would be sent to foreign markets so that economic empowerment of the women from primitive tribes can be assured. He said that in the days to come the industries department would be organising training program for the women of the primitive tribes.
The Chief Minister said that in Santhal Pargana also bamboo is found in abundance and training is being provided to the women and artisans of that area. He said that in Dumka preparing items of bamboo and these are been sent abroad. Mr Das said that recently bamboo-based event was organised in tumka so that that the artisans could get a platform to showcase their skills.
He said that the state government was encouraging cottage small scale and medium industries as they would be beneficial in eradicating poverty.
