
Ranchi: Tourism Secretary Rahul Sharma said that Jharkhand has been blessed by Mother Nature in every aspect and has all the essential ingredients which make an ideal tourism destination.
Addressing the concluding ceremony of the Jharkhand Tour Conclave he said that there was tremendous opportunities in the tourism sector of the state including ranging to Buddhist to Adventure tourism. He gave in detail the possibilities which lay in different tourism sectors of the state and the facilities which are being provided to the people.
During the function speakers detailed about the numerous place of adventure tourism in the state and ways to draw foreign tourists and using Buddhism to link countries of South East Asia and strengthening of the ancient roads.
Consulate General Masayuki Taga shared in depth details on the Indo Japanese relations and also shed light on how Buddhism can be used to further strengthen the relationship between the two countries. He said that if focus will be more on Buddhist tourism than the number of tourists coming to India from Japan can substantially increase.
On the occasion, the tourism department launched a book on the archeological survey done in Itkhori. While an award function to celebrate World Tourism Day was also started in which winners were felicitated in different categories.
Other awards were also given to JTDC managers and Paryatak Mitras while IHM was awarded for Swachtha Pakhwara. Those present on the occasion included Director Tourism Sanjeev Kumar Besra, Former Chief Secretary Jharkhand SK Chowdhary and others.
