Buddhism circuit being developed in Jharkhand: Raghubar

Ranchi: Chief Minister said that there were tremendous opportunities in the tourism sector in the state including those related to cultural, natural, mining and eco-tourism which the state government was working to develop in the last five years.

Addressing the inaugural session of the tour conclave here he said that facilities have been improved at all the tourism spots and apart from that since the rule of law was prevailing in the state, therefore, there has been a massive increase in the number of tourists coming to the state.

He said that the sector was also creating lots of job opportunities and people are also getting jobs at the local level.

He said that tourism plays an important role to attract foreign exchange and pointed that Jharkhand is also a big cultural destination due to the presence of Baba Baidynath Dham, Parasnath Hills, Maluti and various other Shakti Peeths.

Mr Das said that Jharkhand also has a connection with Buddhism as Lord Budhha in the sixth century had left from Itkhori itself to make the world informed about Buddhism. He said that the world’s largest stupa was being built in the state and work was also on develop a Buddhist circuit.

The Chief Minister said that Jharkhand has been also blessed with natural and scenic beauty which makes them an ideal destination for family visits. He said that places like Patratu and Mssanjore have been developed in such a manner so that people can spend their time with their families and apart from that eco-tourism was also being promoted in the state.

Those present on the occasion included Mangolian Ambassador Gonchig Ganbold, Tourism Minister Amar Bauri, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sunil Barnwal and Director Tourism Sanjeev Besra.
