JSCA Elections: Dr Nafees Akhtar group wins all the seats

Ranchi: Dr Nafees Akhtar who enjoyed the backing of former JSCA president Amitabh Chowdhary has been elected as the president of the Jharkhand State Cricket Association.

Dr Akhtar defeated Ajay Maroo in the polls. The elections had commenced at 9 am in which out of total 740 eligible voters 672 voters cast their votes while in the previous polls only 596 votes were cast. Khan elected to president secured 406 votes against 265 votes of Ajay Maroo. Sanjay Sahay elected to secretary got 413 votes and defeated Janki Ram who secured 254 votes.

For Joint Secretary, Rajiv Badhan has been elected with 400 votes. The five people elected as g committee members are- Rajesh Singh, Sanjay Pandey, Shtavan Jajodia, Priya Vats and Sunil Singh. From Jamshedpur nearly 230 voters and from Ranchi 170 voters cast their votes.

Earlier Ajay Nath Shahdeo was elected the vice president of the JSCA as the nomination of his opponent Sunil Sahu was cancelled. Sahu later went to the HC which has issued notices to the concerned parties and has asked them to respond. No one from Ajay Maroo group win the JSCA election for any post.
