DGP chairs meeting with different festival organising committees

Ranchi: Jharkhand DGP KN Choubey chaired a meeting with the different committees in wake of the upcoming festival season during which the festivals of Karma Muharram and Durga Puja will be celebrated in the city and adjoining areas.

The meeting was attended by representatives of Mahabir Mandal, Ranchi Zilla Durga Puja Samiti, Muharram Samiti, Mahanagar Durga Puja Samiti, Grameen Durga Puja Samiti, Anjuman Islamia and others.

In his address, the DGP asked the committees to ensure that all the coming festivals are celebrated with peace and harmony and also expressed his satisfaction over the presence of a large number of people in the meeting.

He said that 80-90 percent peace during the festivals is due to the peace-loving people. During the meeting members of all the committees asked to keep an eye on all the anti-social elements.

In the meetings, it was also so sad to keep an eye on those who spread fake rumours on the various social media platforms and inform the police accordingly.

Apart from detailing regarding the various preparations which has been made at the police level he urged upon the committees to ensure that their cooperation is essential to ensure that all the festivals conclude peacefully and pointed the example of the last somwari of the month of Shravan and Bakrid which fell on the same day and was celebrated peacefully and urged all the communities to celebrate the festivals in a similar manner
