Soren and Marandi hold close door meeting, says all is well in Mahagathabandhan

Dhanbad: A closed door meeting took place between two former Chief Ministers Hemant Soren and Babulal Marandi each leader of their respective regional outfit at the circuit house here over the upcoming assembly elections in the state during which talks were held on the seat-sharing formula.

Addressing the media after the meeting the duo said that there was no problem in the Mahagathbandhan however no talks were held on seat-sharing but the formula for the same was up for discussion and in the days to come everything will be clear.

JVM(P) supremo Babulal Marandi said that he was in favour of the Mahagathbandhan in the coming elections, however, all things are not yet clear. He said that in the days to come a series of meetings will be held in which whatever is decided will be shared with the media.

On the other hand, JMM’s acting president Hemant Soren said that before the Lok Sabha polls a formula for seat-sharing was worked out between the Mahagathbandhan in which it was decided that the Lok Sabha polls will be contested under Congress while in the assembly elections JMM will play the role of the elder brother.

He said that the instability in the Jharkhand Congress has settled down a bit and soon talks will be held with all the other allies and things would be sorted out.

During the Lok Sabha polls as part of the Mahagathbandhan Congress had contested on 7 Lok Sabha seats, JMM on 4, JVM(2) and RJD 1. The grand alliance could only win Chaibasa from where Geeta Koda of Congress emerged victorious and Rajmahal from were Vijay Hansdak of the JMM got re-elected.
