
Ranchi: The Jharkhand IAS Wives Association (JIASOWA) will be organising its highly awaited Diwali mela at the Morabadi Grounds of the state capital from October 17th to 21st.
Briefing the press Secretary of the organisation Ms Manu Jha said that the main purpose behind organising the event was to encourage women, entrepreneurs and rural artisans.
She said that apart from Jharkhand Women entrepreneurs from Gujarat, Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal and Bihar would be participating in the event. She said that this year the main attraction would be stalls of Swadeshi garments tribal foods and traditional arts like Kohwar and Sohrai.
She said also so Garments made of silk and other materials manufactured in different parts of the country will be in the event. Ms Jha said that this year the ancient folk art forms of the state would be also on display apart from that there would be adventure games for the children and youngsters at the venue. She said that for the entertainment of the people every day in the evening cultural programmes including Jhumar Chau and other indigenous dance forms will be performed.
So that for the convenience of the visitors in the Mela premises arrangement of mobile ATM will also be made and this time arrangements of about 200 stalls have been made at the venue. Additionally, a health checkup camp Aadhar registration centre and stalls giving information regarding the various schemes of the state government would be also shown at the venue.
The Secretary said that the organisation since its initial days has been working for the all-round development of the society and the income made from this event is spent on various social welfare works like organising health checkup camp providing scholarships to the meritorious students helping the blind school’s probation homes and development of old age homes.
Media in-charge of JIASOWA Richa Sancheti said that in the last few years the organisation has made arrangements for engineering studies of Three Students who are now working in different organisations apart from that recently five students were admitted in B.Ed course of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University whose education expenses would be borne by the organisation.
She said that the organisation also adopts poor children who are provided expenses related to their education clothes etc while in the last three years three Anganwadi centres have been adopted and converted into model nursery schools.
