Shravani Mela: Rush of kanwariyas continues at Deoghar and Basukinath Dham

Deoghar/Dumka: The inflow of kanwariyas even on weekdays continues to grow at the temple town of Deoghar and also in Basukinath Dham of Dumka district during the ongoing Shravani Mela.

A report from Deoghar said that till 5 pm in the evening 82,357 kanwariyas had offered Jala-abhishek at Baba Baidynath Dham out of which 2800 had opted for the option of shigra-darshanam.

Officials at the temple management committee said that till the doors of the temple are closed for night it is expected more than 1 lakh kanwariyas will offer their obeisance at the temple.

On the other hand, a report from Dumka said that so far 1.25 lakh devotees have offered prayers at Baba Basukinath Dham . During the day the temple also collected more than Rs 1.23 lakh as offerings from the devotees along with 72 grams of silver.

The temple management also sold eight silver coins of 10 grams each and 10 coins of 5 grams each.
