Failure of state govt is biggest election agenda: Dr Ajay

Ranchi: The Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee has decided to celebrate the 75th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi amid much fanfare in the state.

A decision in this regard was taken in the meeting which was chaired by JPCC chief Dr Ajay Kumar. Addressing the meeting Dr Kumar asked the district unit chiefs to work unitedly and strengthen the party organisation as part of preparations for the assembly elections.

He said that failure of the state government is the biggest election agenda and said that Jharkhand has become known for its farmer suicides, hunger deaths and mob lynching. He said that drought was prevailing in the state but neither the state government has taken any step in this regard nor has provided any help to the farmers. He said that the Congress was aware over all such issues and through agitation, it will pressurize the state government on these issues.

JPCC spokesperson Lal Kishore Nath Shahdeo said that as part of anniversary celebrations of the former Prime Minister at district and block level blood donation camps, plantation drives and cultural programmes will be organised.
