Four arrested for ATM loot in Hazaribagh, Rs 15.64 lakh seized

Hazaribagh: The district police claimed to have cracked the ATM loot case worth Rs 37 lakh which had taken place on June 29 from the SBI ATM located on the NH-100 located under Tatijharia police station area of this district.

Addressing a Press Conference here Hazaribagh SP Mayur Patel said that four criminals have been arrested in this case from separate locations of Bihar Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh. He said that Rs 15.64 lakh in cash, a car used to execute the crime, a country-made pistol, two live cartridges, gas cutter and other items have been recovered from their possession.

The SP said that with the help of a local this loot was executed. He said that the arrested included Rajesh Kumar of Hazaribagh Amit Kumar hailing from Mathura Uttar Pradesh Dashrath Mahato and Bikesh Kumar from Samastipur district of Bihar, however, the leader of the gang identified as Sujit Kumar of Patna was still absconding.

He said that among the arrested Rajesh Kumar has completed his B Tech and all of them have criminal records. Mr Patel said that these criminals had met in Tihar Jail and after coming out they had formed their separate gang and started looting the ATMs.
