Jharkhand Urja Vikas Shramik Sangh central president Ajay Rai is scheduled to visit Jamshedpur on October 9 to take up the long-pending issues of electricity workers and human-day workers associated with the Jamshedpur electricity supply area.
During his one-day visit, Rai will meet the General Manager of the Jamshedpur Electricity Supply Area to discuss various issues concerning workers and seek their early resolution at the departmental level.
The key issues expected to be raised during the meeting include pending honorariums of human-day workers, delays in payment, service-related matters, workplace safety arrangements and other concerns affecting the interests and working conditions of electricity workers.
Rai said the union's objective was to ensure that the long-pending grievances of workers are addressed in a time-bound manner. He is expected to place the concerns of the workers before the General Manager and seek concrete steps for their resolution.
He said human-day workers and other electricity personnel play an important role in maintaining uninterrupted power supply and continue to perform their duties even under difficult working conditions. Their contribution, he said, makes it necessary to ensure fair treatment and timely resolution of their pending issues.
Rai further said the Jharkhand Urja Vikas Shramik Sangh has been consistently working to safeguard the rights, dignity and interests of electricity workers.
He added that the union would make every possible effort to resolve the workers' grievances through dialogue and would continue to raise cases where employees face difficulties or alleged injustice.
