Heavy Rain Damages Soso-Patratu Road, MLA Mamta Devi Arranges Immediate Repairs

Heavy rainfall has severely damaged the road connecting Soso and Patratu villages in Gola block, with large potholes and waterlogging making daily travel difficult for local residents. In response to the immediate problem, MLA Mamta Devi has arranged repairs from her personal funds to restore basic connectivity until permanent road construction is taken up.

According to local residents, several stretches of the road had become difficult to negotiate after the recent rains. The large potholes, combined with standing water, were creating particular difficulties for pedestrians, two-wheelers and other commuters.

The issue was brought to the MLA’s attention when hundreds of women from Patratu village met her recently and highlighted the condition of the road. Taking up the matter, Mamta Devi discussed the issue with the Deputy Commissioner and sought steps towards permanent reconstruction of the damaged stretch.

Officials reportedly assured her that the concerned department would initiate the tender process for the permanent construction work soon. Since the permanent project is expected to take some time, residents requested that the existing potholes be filled so that traffic could continue safely.

Following the request, the MLA arranged for immediate repair work at her own expense. The initiative has provided temporary relief to residents while they await the proposed permanent road project.

Local residents welcomed the intervention and expressed their appreciation for the immediate repair work.
