A grand Ganesh Puja celebration has been organised by the youth members of the Ganesh Puja Committee at Ghaghra Police Chowk on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.
The puja pandal was formally inaugurated on Monday by District Council member Satwanti Devi, Mukhiya Yogendra Bhagat and Ghaghra police station in-charge Mohan Kumar Singh, who jointly cut the ribbon to mark the beginning of the festivities.
Congratulating residents on Ganesh Chaturthi, Satwanti Devi urged people to celebrate the festival with mutual love, brotherhood and communal harmony. She also appealed to residents to cooperate with the administration to ensure that the celebrations remain peaceful.
Mukhiya Yogendra Bhagat urged devotees to worship Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles, with devotion and faith while maintaining an atmosphere of harmony and goodwill.
Police station in-charge Mohan Kumar Singh assured residents of adequate security arrangements and appealed to people to enjoy the festival peacefully. He said the police and administration were fully prepared to maintain law and order throughout the celebrations.
Members of the organising committee said that following the inauguration, rituals and prayers would be performed according to tradition, after which the curtains of the idol would be opened for devotees.
A special evening aarti will be held later in the day, followed by the distribution of mahaprasad among devotees.
Satyam Gupta, Prashant, Neel Kashyap, Raja Gupta, Amit Sahu, Tinku Gupta, Deepak Gupta, Shanu Singh, Dinkel, Akash Singh, Ankit Gupta, Ajit Soni and several other devotees were present on the occasi
