Dhanbad Police Parades Banti Khan, Family Members of Fahim Khan Assault Him During Spot Identification

Police in Dhanbad took alleged criminal Banti Khan on a foot parade through the city while carrying out spot identification based on information obtained during his interrogation following his arrest in Kolkata.

The situation turned tense when police took Banti Khan to one of the locations he had reportedly identified. Fahim Khan's son, son-in-law and other family members allegedly confronted him and began assaulting him. Police personnel immediately intervened, surrounded Banti Khan and brought the situation under control.

Fahim Khan's family members reportedly expressed anger over Banti Khan and his brother Prince Khan and demanded strict action against them.

Banti Khan was arrested in Kolkata after Dhanbad Police reportedly received information that he was preparing to leave the country. According to police, he was allegedly attempting to travel abroad using a forged passport and was also trying to reach his absconding brother, Prince Khan.

After bringing him back to Dhanbad, investigators questioned Banti Khan and subsequently took him to different locations for spot identification based on information allegedly provided during interrogation. His movement through the city under police escort drew public attention before the confrontation with Fahim Khan's relatives.

Police have said Banti Khan is an accused in several criminal cases, including the Nanhe murder case. He had reportedly spent around four years in jail before being released on bail in January this year.

Investigators are now examining the alleged plan to leave the country, the forged passport and the wider network allegedly linked to Prince Khan. The questioning is also expected to focus on Banti Khan's contacts and activities following his release on bail.

Banti Khan has currently been sent to judicial custody. Police are preparing to seek his remand for further interrogation as the investigation continues.
