Preparations for Ganesh Mahotsav-2026 in Ranchi are gaining momentum, with organisers stepping up efforts ahead of the celebrations. A delegation of the Shri Ganesh Puja Ranchi Mahanagar Zila Mahasamiti met Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday and invited him to attend the upcoming festival.

The meeting was held at the Chief Minister’s residential office on Kanke Road, where members of the delegation briefed Soren on the planned programmes and the preparations being made for the celebrations.

The Chief Minister interacted with the organisers and sought details about the arrangements. He extended his best wishes for the successful conduct of the Ganesh Mahotsav.

Soren said religious and cultural festivals play an important role in bringing communities together. Such events, he said, help strengthen social bonds, brotherhood and harmony among people.

The meeting was also attended by Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Maji and several office-bearers and members of the Mahasamiti, including Nand Kishore Singh Chandel, Vikram Singh Sonu, Sandeep Mukherjee, Rahul Singh, Vicky Verma, Tunna Singh, Lakhan Kumar, Vinay Singh, Sagar, Sheela Oraon and Kavita Verma, among others.

With Ganesh Mahotsav celebrations attracting large numbers of devotees across Ranchi each year, organisers are expected to focus not only on religious programmes but also on crowd management, public convenience and the smooth conduct of the various events.
