





Deoghar: A delegation of the Santhal Pargana Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Deoghar, inspected the parking arrangements at Deoghar Airport on Sunday and reviewed the system of parking fee collection. The delegation was led by Chamber president Gopal Krishna Sharma and Deoghar Airport Advisory Committee member Alok Mallik. The members also gathered information from the parking vendor and staff.The Chamber said vehicles leaving the airport within the stipulated 13-minute pick-and-drop period should not be charged any parking fee. It also suggested that the parking charges and applicable time limit should be displayed in large and clearly visible letters at the parking collection booth for the convenience of passengers. The Chamber appealed to passengers to check the entry time mentioned on the parking slip when entering the airport and pay the applicable fee based on the recorded time while leaving.
Chamber raises concerns over street vendor policy
The Chamber also raised concerns over the issue of street vendors operating between Tower Chowk and Azad Chowk. It described the policy of the municipal corporation and administration as contradictory, saying that vendors are charged fees by the municipal corporation while action is also taken against them in the name of encroachment.The Chamber extended moral support to the street vendors and demanded that clear spaces be identified and demarcated for them. It also urged the authorities not to unnecessarily harass or displace vendors from whom the municipal corporation collects fees. According to the Chamber, a permanent solution to the issue can be found by providing vendors with designated spaces.
Chamber general secretary Niranjan Kumar Singh, joint secretary Pankaj Bhalotia, Vivek Agrawal, Sanjay Malviya, Laxman Patel, Rishi Raj Singh, Vibhuti Thakur, Nilesh Singh and other members were present during the inspection.
