Stolen Toto, Mobile Phone and Batteries Recovered; Motorcycle Used in Crime Seized


Deoghar: Police have cracked the robbery case in which a toto driver was assaulted and robbed near Yogidih, close to DAV School and the Dadhwa River under Kunda police station limits. Two accused have been arrested and the stolen articles have been recovered.According to police, Rambalak Rai, 49, a resident of Balia Chowki in Deoghar, lodged a complaint on June 29 stating that on June 28, four motorcycle-borne men intercepted him at a secluded spot near Yogidih. The accused allegedly threatened and assaulted him before fleeing with his toto, mobile phone and cash.Following the complaint, a special team was formed on the directions of the Superintendent of Police to investigate the case and recover the stolen property.
Acting on technical and human intelligence inputs, the police arrested two accused identified as Sumit Kumar Mandal, son of Kedar Mandal, and Lilambar Mandal, son of Ajay Kumar Mandal, both residents of Gauripur under Kunda police station.
During the operation, police recovered the stolen mobile phone and the Apache motorcycle used in the crime from the possession of the accused. Based on their confession and identification, the stolen toto and its four Eastman batteries were also recovered.The seized items include one toto, four Eastman batteries, one mobile phone and one Apache motorcycle.The raid was conducted by Kunda police station in-charge Prashant Kumar, Assistant Sub-Inspector Shivyatan Murmu, Havildar Rambalak Rai, constable Rajesh Kumar Yadav and technical branch personnel Riyazul Haque and Krishna Purti. Police said efforts are on to trace the remaining accused involved in the robbery.
