Focus on Smooth Darshan, Crowd Management and Devotee Safety

Deoghar: The district administration on Friday reviewed preparations for the State Shravani Mela 2026, with a special focus on strengthening arrangements at the Baba Baidyanath Temple to ensure the convenience and safety of devotees.The review meeting, chaired by Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Saurabh Kumar Bhuvania, was attended by Superintendent of Police Praveen Pushkar, Deputy Development Commissioner Piyush Sinha, Baba Temple In-charge-cum-Sub-Divisional Officer Ravi Kumar, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer, District Sports Officer, Assistant Public Relations Officer and other officials.During the meeting, officials discussed measures to facilitate smooth jalarpan (offering of holy water), improve crowd management, streamline the quick darshan system and regulate the VIP worship arrangement. The Deputy Commissioner directed all departments to work in close coordination to ensure that devotees visiting the temple do not face any inconvenience during the month-long pilgrimage.A key proposal to install a permanent Bahya Argha facility in the temple complex throughout the year and to impose a complete ban on the use of mobile phones by devotees inside the sanctum sanctorum received unanimous approval from officials, temple priests and other stakeholders present at the meeting.
Members of the Panda Dharamrakshini Sabha also placed several suggestions before the administration to improve temple management. Taking note of the proposals, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officials to take appropriate steps to further strengthen the arrangements.
The meeting also reviewed plans for a new foot overbridge, improved cloakroom facilities and other measures aimed at ensuring safe and hassle-free jalarpan for devotees. At the end of the meeting, the Panda Dharamrakshini Sabha submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner highlighting its demands and suggestions.
Senior temple functionaries, office-bearers of the Panda Dharamrakshini Sabha and officials from various departments were also present at the meeting.
