National forum to focus on urban development, waste management and smart city governance

Deoghar: Deoghar Municipal Corporation Mayor Ravi Kumar Raut will visit Uttarakhand to participate in the two-day All India Mayors’ Conference scheduled to be held on June 3 and 4. The national-level event will bring together mayors from various states and metropolitan cities across the country, along with experts in urban development.The conference aims to facilitate discussions and exchange of experiences on sustainable urban development, modern waste management, water conservation, and digital and smart municipal governance. Participants will deliberate on innovative practices and successful models being implemented in cities across India.
Before leaving for Uttarakhand, Mayor Ravi Kumar Raut said the conference would be a significant opportunity for Deoghar Municipal Corporation. He noted that interaction with mayors from leading cities would help the civic body understand effective policies and development strategies. He added that the corporation would strive to adopt successful models in Deoghar to strengthen its position among the country’s clean, attractive and modern cities.During the conference, the Mayor is also expected to hold courtesy meetings with the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and senior officials of the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. Discussions are likely to focus on central government schemes, development projects and budgetary support related to Deoghar’s urban growth. Municipal officials believe that insights gained from the conference will help accelerate development initiatives and improve civic services in the temple town.
