New Delhi: Actress Janhvi Kapoor believes filmmaking is ultimately about serving audiences and says viewers’ opinions—whether positive or critical—play an important role in helping artists grow and deliver better content.
Speaking about the growing trend of social media users judging films even before watching them, Janhvi said that sincere storytelling eventually finds its audience.
“If a film is made with honesty, hard work and good intentions, it reaches the people it is meant to reach,” she said, adding that while people may be quick to form opinions, filmmakers cannot ignore audience feedback.
Describing cinema as a responsibility towards viewers, the actress said films are created to entertain and connect with audiences, making their reactions valuable rather than dismissible.
“We make films for the audience. Their feelings and opinions matter because, in the end, they are the ones we are trying to entertain,” she said.
Janhvi further emphasized that audiences hold a special place in the film industry and that artists should remain receptive to their responses.
“The audience is God. We are here to cater to them and serve them through our work. Every opinion is welcome, and if that feedback helps us improve and create better films, we gladly accept it,” she added.
On the professional front, Janhvi is preparing for the release of Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana. The film features an ensemble cast including Boman Irani, Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu and Divyenndu. The much-awaited Telugu drama is scheduled to hit theatres on June 4.
Janhvi was last seen in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, directed by Shashank Khaitan. The film also stars Varun Dhawan, Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf, Maniesh Paul and Akshay Oberoi.
