Jamshedpur Students Deliver Distinguished Performance in JEE Main Session–2

Jamshedpur: The announcement of the JEE Main Session–2 results by the National Testing Agency on Monday has ushered in a moment of pride for Jamshedpur, as the city’s students have delivered an exceptional academic performance, reinforcing its reputation as a hub of scholastic excellence.

Topping the city is Mukul Mahato, who secured an outstanding 99.96 percentile, earning an impressive All India Rank of 620. His achievement stands as a testament to unwavering dedication, intellectual rigour, and focused preparation, setting a high standard for aspirants across the region.

Sarthak Singh emerged as the second-highest scorer in the city with a remarkable 99.928 percentile, securing an All India Rank of 1222. Close behind, Abhinav Aditya claimed the third position with a commendable 99.79 percentile, further highlighting the depth of talent in the Steel City.

The city’s merit list reflects consistent excellence beyond the top three. Ayan Singh secured the fourth position with an All India Rank of 4446, followed by Pranshu Verma in fifth place with a 99.721 percentile and AIR 4563. Soham Dolu (AIR 5363), Akshat Agarwal (99.606 percentile, AIR 6421), Karan Yadav (99.60 percentile, AIR 6430), Pratyush Mishra (AIR 7637), and Naman Agarwal (AIR 7771) completed the top ten, underscoring the competitive academic environment.

In a significant achievement, as many as 540 candidates from Jamshedpur have qualified for JEE Advanced this year—an encouraging indicator of the city’s strong academic ecosystem and the students’ relentless pursuit of excellence. The NTA also announced the qualifying cut-offs across categories, with the general category set at 93.41 percentile. 

The thresholds stand at 82.41 for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), 80.92 for Other Backward Classes (OBC), 63.91 for Scheduled Castes (SC), and 52.01 for Scheduled Tribes (ST). Students attributed their success to disciplined study routines, sustained practice, and the invaluable mentorship provided by teachers and institutions.

With the focus now shifting to JEE Advanced 2026—scheduled to be conducted by IIT Roorkee on May 17—aspirants are entering a decisive phase of preparation. Registrations will open on April 23 and continue until May 2, while admit cards will be issued from May 11. 

The final results are expected to be declared on June 1. As these young achievers set their sights on the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology, Jamshedpur once again stands tall, celebrating a legacy of academic brilliance and determined ambition.
