Tatanagar –Jaipur train proposal pending, demand grows for direct Bengaluru link

Jamshedpur: The proposal to introduce a new train service between Tatanagar and Jaipur remains pending with the Ministry of Railways, according to information shared with MP Bidyut Varan Mahato by Railway Executive Director (Public Grievances) Vikas Jain.

The proposal has already been forwarded to the ministry, and a final decision is awaited.

Raising the issue strongly, the MP has also pitched for a direct train connecting Tatanagar to Bengaluru to enhance long-distance connectivity.

He suggested a route via Kharagpur, Bhubaneswar, Andhra Pradesh, and Katpadi, which would significantly benefit passengers by improving access to southern India.

Mahato emphasized that a direct Bengaluru service would be a major relief, particularly for patients and students, as a large number of people travel to the southern region for advanced medical treatment and higher education.

In addition, the MP reiterated his demand for the restoration of the Tatanagar–Mumbai Antyodaya Express, which was discontinued during the COVID-19 pandemic.

He noted that the train was a crucial lifeline for economically weaker passengers, and its absence has caused considerable inconvenience.

With multiple proposals on the table, all eyes are now on the Railway Ministry’s decision, which is expected to bring significant relief to passengers from the region.
