Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren is enduring one of the most challenging times of his life following the passing of his father, Dishom Guru Shibu Soren. Even after five days, the grief remains fresh. Yet, from his ancestral village of Nemra in Ramgarh, he continues to fulfill both traditional family rituals and his official responsibilities as the head of the state.
Despite the emotional toll, Soren is actively engaged in governance — reviewing key files, holding meetings with senior officials, and ensuring prompt resolution of public grievances. He has instructed officials to keep him constantly informed and to avoid any negligence in administrative functioning.
He acknowledged the overwhelming support from the people of Jharkhand during this difficult period, which he said has strengthened his resolve to carry forward his duties. Soren fondly recalled his father’s enduring advice — to always stand by the people and never let personal interests overshadow public service. Shibu Soren, he said, led the fight for Jharkhand from the grassroots to Parliament, without ever compromising his values.
Hemant Soren also mentioned that his father had made him promise to continue working for Jharkhand’s progress. He is determined to honour those commitments and described his father as a beacon whose legacy will continue to guide him in serving the people.
