Ranchi: A shocking incident of firing took place in broad daylight at Bhurkunda railway siding on Thursday, just 50 meters from Bhadani Nagar police station, raising serious concerns about law and order in the area. Two bike-borne assailants targeted Bhola Yadav, the operator of the railway siding, opening fire multiple times. Fortunately, Bhola Yadav escaped unharmed. The attackers fled the scene immediately after the shooting.
On receiving the information, Patratu SDPO Gaurav Goswami, inspectors, and teams from nearby police stations rushed to the spot and began investigating. Police counted the cartridges recovered from the site and started reviewing CCTV footage from nearby cameras. The videos clearly show two young men arriving on a bike and suddenly opening fire, causing people nearby to scatter in panic.
Bhola Yadav said, "We were sitting outside the office working when suddenly two youths came and started shooting. We didn’t understand what was happening and ran away. We don’t know who did this or why, but our staff is very scared."
Patratu SDPO Gaurav Goswami stated, "Reports suggest 5 to 6 rounds of firing were fired. The investigation is ongoing. CCTV footage is being thoroughly examined. The culprits will be identified and arrested soon."
