Ranchi: A tragic road accident took place on Saturday morning in the Koderma police station area. A violent head-on collision between an auto-rickshaw and a pickup van near Lokai Talab claimed the lives of two people and left seven others seriously injured.
According to eyewitnesses, nine residents of Naresh Nagar in Jhumeri Tilaiya were traveling in the auto-rickshaw towards Domchanch when the accident occurred. As the vehicle approached Lokai Talab, it collided with an oncoming pickup van. The impact was so intense that the auto-rickshaw was completely destroyed, and all the passengers sustained injuries.
Upon being informed, a police patrol team from Koderma rushed to the scene and immediately transported the injured to the Sadar Hospital. Doctors declared Mukesh Kumar and Chanda Devi dead on arrival. The remaining seven injured individuals are currently undergoing treatment.
The injured passengers recounted that the auto was mangled beyond recognition after the crash, and the pickup van also suffered severe damage. The police have seized both vehicles and are investigating the incident.
