PM to Inaugurate Modernized Govindpur Road Railway Station on May 22

Ranchi: The Govindpur Road railway station in Jharkhand’s Khunti district, originally established in 1960, has undergone a complete transformation under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme at a cost of ?6.65 crore.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the newly redeveloped station on May 22, along with 102 other Amrit stations across the country. The upgraded Govindpur Road station is a key link in enhancing rail connectivity between important cities such as Ranchi, Khunti, and Rourkela.

The station now features a newly constructed building with modern architecture and state-of-the-art technology. Passengers will enjoy upgraded amenities, including spacious waiting halls, computerized ticket booking counters, high-level platforms, and a safe foot overbridge.

To ensure accessibility, the station has been made Divyang-friendly, with provisions such as tactile pathways, ramps, and hand railings to assist differently-abled passengers.

Additional facilities include clean drinking water, mobile charging stations, digital display boards, and hygienic restrooms, all designed to provide passengers with a safe, clean, and comfortable travel experience.
