Couple attacked with axe in Jamshedpur

Ranchi: In a shocking incident late Wednesday night, an unknown assailant broke into the house of a couple in the Kuluptanga settlement of Adityapur police station area and attacked them with an axe. The attack took place near Radha Swami Gate around midnight. The injured victims, Ritesh Birua and his wife Sita Birua, were rushed to MGM Hospital in critical condition. After receiving initial treatment, they were referred to another hospital for better care. At the time of the attack, their young children were asleep in a nearby room and remained unharmed.

Ritesh and Sita both work for a private security agency. Following the incident, the area is in a state of fear and anxiety. Local residents, upon hearing screams, immediately alerted the police. Upon reaching the scene, the police conducted an inspection and began reviewing footage from nearby CCTV cameras. They are also questioning the couple's acquaintances and neighbors as part of the investigation. Authorities suspect that the attack may be related to a personal dispute or old enmity. So far, no eyewitnesses have come forward. The police are taking the matter very seriously and are investigating all angles.
