Ranchi DC asks officials to make sure people do not have trouble with drinking water supply in summer season

Ranchi: A review meeting related to Technical and Civil Work was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Ranchi Rahul Kumar Sinha. Deputy Development Commissioner Dinesh Yadav, Director DRDA Ramvriksh Mahto, District Planning Officer Vinay Kumar, Officer-in-Charge, District Development Branch, Executive Engineer NREP-1 and 2, District Engineer and officials of the concerned department were present in the meeting.

In the meeting, Deputy Commissioner gave necessary guidelines while reviewing the progress of ongoing schemes in the district by the departments of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Building Division, Zilla Parishad, Irrigation, Road, Electricity, Special Division etc. In the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner took information from the Executive Engineer of the Drinking Water Supply Department regarding the problem currently being faced in drinking water supply.

It was told by the Executive Engineer that due to insufficient and irregular power supply, water supply is not being done at full capacity. Necessary guidelines were given by the Deputy Commissioner to the concerned officer of the Electricity Department for the regular supply of electricity while being aware of the problems being faced in the supply of electricity. In the meeting, the concerned officers were directed by him to repair the handpumps without any delay so that the common people do not face any drinking water problems during summer. 

He directed to submit a micro plan without delay for the repair of damaged water pipes in the district. He directed the drinking water sanitation department to set up a control room to diagnose problems related to the drinking water supply. He said that he would soon visit the control room. Those schemes which are at the stage of implementation were instructed by the Deputy Commissioner to implement them by approving them at a speedy pace as per the rules.

In the meeting, the work progress of important projects like roads, road widening, fly over construction etc being constructed by the Road Construction Department in urban and rural areas was reviewed by the Deputy Commissioner. He inquired about the necessary process like land acquisition, obtaining no objection certificate from various departments, forest clearance to get all these schemes on the ground.

Regarding the timely completion of the projects, the Deputy Commissioner directed to complete the work by establishing coordination with all the departments. Along with the road construction department, all the heads of departments present were instructed by the Deputy Commissioner to get the acquisition-dismissal of the plot acquired for the implementation of the scheme.

It was also directed that after technical and administrative approval, the implementation of the schemes should be ensured as per the rules without delay. He instructed the present officials to invite public representatives and register their names in the plaque as per the protocol issued for laying the foundation stones of the schemes. While reviewing the schemes run under the Swachh Bharat Mission, the Deputy Commissioner said that the officers should focus on achieving the target while working with full dedication.
