Foundation stone of Gaumuktidham laid in the state, Agri Min says initiative very close to culture

Ranchi: Agriculture Minister Badal said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren efforts are on to shape several schemes to make the farmers and animal herders of the state economically prosperous. Along with this, the government is working according to the culture of the common people and for the first time the foundation stone of Gaumuktidham is being started at the divisional level as a pilot project by the government of the state he said while addressing the office bearers and cattle rearers by participating online in the inaugural session of Animal Fair cum Training Program organized at Animal Husbandry Bhavan, Hesag. Badal said that along with Gaumuktidham at the divisional level, Gaumuktidham will also be constructed in all the districts.

In this regard, the process of marking the land has been started from the Deputy Commissioners of all the districts. Soon the department is going to arrange an ambulance for the veterinary hospital he said adding that this will be a major achievement in the field of animal husbandry. Along with this, the government is going to upgrade 100 animal hospitals of the state to make them model animal hospitals and it is being ensured that doctors are available 24 hours in the hospital. 

The Agriculture Minister said that soon Animal Husbandry University will also be set up in the state. He said that at present 42,000 families are involved in milk production. Our target is to link 1,00,000 families with milk production. Along with this, the government aims to ensure the production of 1.8 lakh liter of milk produced in the state at present up to 5 lakh litres. Badal said that the department has compassion for the mute creatures. The way present government is sensitive to children to their ailments, in the same way, people need to be sensitive to livestock.

The government is making plans keeping in mind the feelings of the people according to the culture and the officials of the department are playing an important role in implementing the plans. But, for the successful implementation of these schemes, the people of the villages needed to be more aware. Abu Bakar Siddiqui, Secretary, Department of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperation, said that animal vaccination is very less in the state and it is necessary for all to coordinate the supply of vaccination as per the demand.

He stressed on the need to connect more and more voluntary organizations with trained people to the vaccination program so that animals can be vaccinated at the village level. He said that people should be informed the benefits of vaccination, make them aware and make them understand that prevention is the only solution. If animals are to be saved, then it is necessary to take care of animals like humans, so that they too can be saved from disease. 

The departmental secretary said that farmers should be made aware about artificial insemination, explaining them that hybrid quality is achieved through artificial insemination. It is the responsibility of the department to organize an awareness campaign at the village level and run it as a campaign, so that cattle herders can get complete information about the scheme.

He said that if the farmers are strong in the state, then future generation will also be financially independent and empowered. Giving detailed information about the programme, Animal Husbandry Director Shashi Prakash Jha said that a two-day animal health camp is organized in every panchayat by the Animal Husbandry Department in the state. Along with this, various programs are organized for milk collection in each district.

He told that the incentive amount of Rs 2 per liter is given to milk producers by the department, due to which there has been an unprecedented increase of 40 percent in milk collection. He gave detailed information about A to Z program regarding animal husbandry and dairy. Agriculture Secretary launched a website for the cattle rearers of the state. 

Through this website, all kinds of information related to the livestock of the cattle rearers of the state will be available. This fair will continue till February 2 in Hesag, after which from February 3 fairs will be organized in all the districts of the state for a week.

During the programme, the diary of the Animal Husbandry Division of the Department of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperation was also released, in which detailed information about all the schemes related to the department has been given, along with citations were also distributed to 51 artificial insemination workers. The departmental secretary also distributed three pairs of bullocks to three persons.
