CIL Chairman reviews progress of 13 open-cast mines of CCL

Ranchi: Coal India Ltd (CIL) Chairman Pramod Agarwal on Wednesday presided over a review of Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) at CCL Darbhanga House. Coal India has set its target to produce 1 Billion Tonnes(BT) of coal in the financial year 2023-24. Thirteen mines of CCL have been identified for contribution to the ambitious projection of the 1 BT plan of CIL.

Chairman Pramod Agarwal in his review meeting took stock of the progress of each 13 open-cast mines, which are spread out in eight districts of Jharkhand. Magadh, Amrapali, Karo, Konar, Rohini, Kerketta, Kotre Basantpur, Chandragupta, North Urimari, Rajrappa, Tapin, KDH Open-cast, Sanghimitra and Pundi are 13 mines that are clubbed under 1 BT plan of CIL.

CMD CCL PM Prasad explained the present status of 13 mines and its status related to environment clearance, forest clearance, authentication of land, etc through power plantations. Prasad also informed him that the company is supplying coal to power plants situated in various parts of the country and stepped up its production.

CMD, CMPDIL Manoj Kumar, Director (Tech/Oprns) RB Prasad, Director Technical (P&P) SK Gomasta, Director (Personnel) PVKR Mallikarjuna Rao and GMs of various departments were present. In the previous fiscal 2021-22, CCL has produced all time high coal production of 68.85 Million Tonnes since its inception.
