Ranchi POCSO court sends three to 20 years in jail for gangraping minor

Ranchi: In the case of gang rape with a minor, a POSCO court in the city convicted three youths to twenty years of imprisonment. Sunil Aind, Anand Kumar Sahu, and Shankar Mahato, all residents of Mausibari were sentenced to 20 years imprisonment by the court.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on each of them. The three convicts have been in jail since August 9, 2019. The case came to light after the victim, a resident of Kanke Road, lodged an FIR in Dhurwa police station on May 2, 2019, regarding the incident.

She in her FIR to police alleged that when she along with her boyfriend was returning to her home at Kanke on a scooter at 11 pm via Shalimar market in Dhurwa after a wedding programme, the key of the scooter fell in a street of Shalimar market.

As the scooter stopped and she went to pick up the key, she alleged that the said youths took her to old bus depot In Dhurwa and gang-raped after beating up and chasing away her friend.
