Giridih: In a major success for the district police a zonal commander of the CPI Maoists who was carrying a reward of Rs 10 lakh on his head was arrested by Girdih police from Pahadpur village under Bhelwaghati Police Station area of this district. Giridih SP Surendra Kumar Jha said that the arrested ultra has been identified as Durgi Yadav who is a resident of Dhuniya village under Charkapathar Police Station area of the Chakai district.
The Bihar government had also declared an award of Rs 25000 on his head. The arrested hardcore ultra was wanted by the police of both Bihar and Jharkhand in more than 30 cases. He was also wanted in connection with the murder of the second commandent of CRPF Hira Jha. The SP said that based on the inputs provided by him a SLR which was looted from Bihar Police 263 cartridges two wireless sets and five magazines have been recovered.
