Vaccination for 15-18 year old category starts in Jharkhand, enthusiasm seen among teenagers

Ranchi: The Covid vaccination for 15-18 years category commenced in the state from Monday during which a long and excited que of teenagers and school children was seen across the state who were eager to get their first shot of the vaccine.

On the first day children were  being vaccinated against Covid-19 at 8 centers in Ranchi.  Though the preparations had started from 7 am vaccination started at different centers between 9-10 am.  A separate team was formed by the district administration for this.

During a visit to a vaccination centre one could see the enthusiasm among the children who took the vaccine.  The children said that there is definitely some panic that what will be the effect of this vaccine but there was no need to be afraid of it.  The children said that a vaccine would have to be applied to defeat Corona and they would also inspire the other children around them to do the same.

Facility of online as well as offline registration has also been provided to people in this age group for the vaccine.  Apart from Aadhar card, registration is also being done with their school ID.  Along with this, the declaration form is being filled from their parents before vaccination.  They are being vaccinated only after filling the form or taking consent over the phone.

All the children were asked to come to school after having breakfast.  The children who turned up at the school without having breakfast for them the school management made arrangements for biscuits and other snacks.  Children were vaccinated only after having breakfast.  A target has been set to vaccinate 200 children at one center in a day.

At the same time, public representatives and officials in rural areas are making children and their parents aware.  They are increasing their enthusiasm by giving information about the corona vaccine to the children in the school and the locality.  Along with this, the said that people should take the vaccine fearlessly and should motivate the children in the neighbourhood who do not come to school to get them vaccinated.

Vaccination was done only for the students at District School, Marwari School, Gauridutt Mahavidyalaya School, Ratu Road, DAV Hehal.  Apart from that vaccination was done at ATI, Morhabadi, Rotary Club, Club Road, Government Primary School, New Sant Colony, Lodhama Road, St Joseph School, Lowadih, St Louis Primary School, Government Primary School, Bariatu, SPC Session Football Stadium.
