
Ranchi: The Jharkhand Government on Wednesday announced to provide a sum of Rs 250 in the bank accounts of poor families having ration cards per month to buy petrol with the system slated to come into effect from January 26. Addressing a mega function organised at the Morhabadi grounds as part of the second-anniversary celebrations of the state government Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that Jharkhand will now not stop or bow down but will definitely march forward and with this pledge, the government is trying to realise the schemes on the ground with speed. He said that the prices of petrol and diesel have skyrocketed which is adversely impacted the poor and middle-class families.
He said that despite having a motorcycle a poor man is not able to drive it for the lack of money and is not able to sell his produce in the market therefore he has decided that such ration cardholders who get their scooters or motorcycles filled with petrol then at the rate of Rs 25 per litre money will be transferred in their bank accounts. The system will come into effect from January 26 next year and a poor family will be provided the money for buying up to 10 litres of petrol.
On the occasion, he also announced to launch of the Student Credit Card scheme in the state and said that soon the students will be able to get its benefits and money will not be a hindrance in their education and the scheme will help them to realise their goal of better education. Adding further he said that the Jharkhand state is a result of agitation and many people have given their martyrdom for the separate statehood movement. He said that such Anolankaris and their kin are being provided pension and going forward they will be given five percent horizontal reservation in government jobs.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is providing 100 percent scholarships to the students hailing from the ST community to pursue higher education abroad. This year the benefit has been extended to six students and now the government is planning to extend its ambit and meritorious students from other communities will also be included in the scheme, he announced. He said that the government employees for long have been demanding that the old pension scheme be implemented in the state over which the government is thinking upon and soon as per the law decision will be taken.
He said that there are thousands of contractual employees in the different departments of the state government who keep doing agitation in support of their demands and problems. He assured them their problems are in the cognisance of the government but problems can not be solved through agitation or demonstrations. He called upon them to extend cooperation to the government and come forward for talks so that proper decisions can be taken on their demands which will make them to contribute the development of the state.
The Chief Minister said that poor students should also get better and quality education and in this direction the government is taking continuous steps and from the next session in many government school teaching will be done on the lines of private schools this decision has been taken by the government and in these schools, all necessary and basic facilities will be available to the students.
He said that with the cooperation of the people the government has successfully completed two years in power. However, these two years have been full of crisis for the entire world as due to Coronavirus the world was badly impacted and due to lockdown people were forced to remain in their homes he said adding that there was danger on the lives of the people and their livelihood. Under such a situation how the people could get relief the government remained busy thinking over it he said adding that as soon as the situation turned a bit better than with utmost care all the schemes of the government were realised on the ground so that problems of the people could be solved and the state government has also achieved success in the same however the danger of Corona was still looming large therefore by adopting necessary precautions speed is being added to the development
schemes in the state.
Elaborating further he said that in the last 2 years 28-30 schemes have been executed in the state to ensure that the people sitting on the last line in cities and villages get the benefits of the scheme. He said that earlier the officials did not go to far-flung villages and schemes also did not reach in such places for which the government started ‘Apke Adhikar Apki Sarkar Apke Dwar’ programme. He said that under the initiative not only the government machinery is reaching the doors of the people but they are linked with various welfare schemes and their problems are being also solved. He said that his government is dedicated to the people and is fulfilling
their hopes and aspirations.
He assured the people that all their problems will be solved but for that, they needed to extend the same kind of cooperation which they have done so far. He said that the government is making all possible efforts to take the state further on the path of development as schemes have been made keeping into account the needs of the next 25-30 years. He said that the plans which are being executed in the state will have a long-term impact and the day is not far when Jharkhand will establish itself as a strong state in the country and will also extend cooperation in the development of other states.
The Chief Minister said that normally the state is known for its mines and minerals but it has tremendous potential in the area of tourism and sports therefore a new tourism policy has been framed for the development of tourist spots of the state. He said that further, the government has come out with a new sports policy due to which players are being provided direct recruitment and different competitions are being held across the state to identify hidden talents. Hemant Soren said that in the interest of the people of the state many schemes are being made however for their proper implementation there is a need to have resources and with this thought, the government is making honest and dedicated efforts to increase the internal resources of the state.
