Winter Rainfall: Ranchi receives 12 mm, Palamu 27, cold to intensify from Jan 1

Ranchi: Normal life has gone for a spin following the first spell of Winter Rainfall as a result of which people preferred to remain in the comfort of their homes. The state received its first rain of winter on Tuesday evening. It was cloudy in the state since Tuesday morning but by evening, these clouds started raining. The light rain that started after 8 pm in Ranchi became torrential.

Till 12 o’clock in the night, where 12 mm of rain was recorded in Ranchi and 27 mm in Palamu. Scientists at the local weather station said that due to cyclones in Rajasthan, Ranchi, Dhanbad, Palamu, Chatra, Hazaribagh, Garhwa and Lohardaga in Jharkhand have received rain on Tuesday. In view of this, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert in the state. The Meteorological Department has given a warning of rain with thunderstorms and hailstorms in most of the districts.

The MET said that on December 30 also Ranchi and other districts of the state will remain cloudy and there will be light and normal rain at some places. There is a possibility of heavy rain at some places in Deoghar, Dhanbad, Dumka, Giridih, Godda, Jamtara, Pakur Sahibganj in the northeastern districts of Jharkhand.

The morning of December 31 will be cloudy, but the sky will clear as the day progresses. This will bring down the temperature by 3 to 4 degrees. This time on January 1, there is a possibility of a severe cold. The haze also affected the flight movement due to poor visibility some of the flights being diverted or landing at the airport way behind their schedule.

According to the forecast report of the Meteorological Center from January 1, the maximum temperature of Ranchi is likely to be between 19 and 21 degrees and the minimum temperature is likely to be between 10 and 12 degrees. On January 1, the minimum temperature will drop by 4 degrees, due to which the minimum temperature will come down to 10 degrees.
