Books to be delivered at homes for students in classes 1-10 in government schools of Jharkhand

Ranchi: Books will be home delivered for the students studying in classes 1-10 in government schools of Jharkhand for the academic session 2021-22.

The Home Prison and Disaster Management Department has approved a proposal of the School Education Department in this regard. Director of Jharkhand State Education Project Sailesh Kumar Chourasia said that books will be provided to 40 lakh students free of cost. He said that to make sure that the studies of the children are not impacted and due to lockdown they do not face any problems it has been decided to provide books in their homes.

He said that books have reached the blocks and process of its distribution had also started but in April due to impact of Coronavirus the work was impacted and after approval from the Home Department the work will be started.

It is the responsibility of the director to get the books published and provide them to the districts. From the district the books reach to the blocks under the supervision of district education officer and in the later stage with consultation of school management committee it is given to the students.

For the first time 27 lakh students from classes 1-8 have been promoted to other class while 8 lakh students in classes 9th and 11th have been promoted in the next class.
