Actresses Anushka Ranjan and Surbhi Jyoti have shared their perspectives on how motherhood is evolving with changing times, highlighting the importance of adapting parenting practices without losing sight of the enduring essence of motherhood.

In an exclusive conversation with IANS, Anushka said that while mothers today may approach parenting differently, the effort and dedication involved in raising children remain unchanged.

“I think moms have changed; motherhood has not changed. The hard work your grandmoms must have done, even today the same hard work is being done. But our way has changed,” she said.

The *Wedding Pullav* actress added that, just as society has adapted to changes in other areas of life, parenting approaches should also evolve with time.

Anushka also welcomed the growing number of platforms where women openly discuss their experiences of motherhood. Such conversations, she said, help mothers understand that their feelings and experiences are normal.

Surbhi Jyoti Advocates a Balance Between Tradition and Reason

Surbhi Jyoti said modern mothers should not reject traditional practices simply to establish themselves as different from previous generations.

She observed that today's mothers have greater exposure to information and can assess inherited parenting practices through logic and reasoning rather than following them unquestioningly.

According to Surbhi, the essence of motherhood remains the same even as mothers' approaches change. She said the ability to examine traditional practices and decide what makes sense for their circumstances is one of the advantages available to the current generation.

Anushka’s Journey to Motherhood

Anushka welcomed twin daughters, Vira Ranjan Seal and Mahi Ranjan Seal, with her husband, actor Aditya Seal, on August 23, 2026.

The actress has also spoken openly about her in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) journey and the challenges she faced along the way.

The two actresses' comments reflect a broader conversation about contemporary parenting: how mothers can adapt to changing circumstances and access to information while continuing the commitment and care that have long been central to raising children.
