Mumbai — Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan turned to filmmaker-producer Karan Johar for advice on stepping into production, during a lively interaction at a Prime Video event.
Hrithik, who recently appeared in War 2, was present at the launch of his upcoming shows Mess and Storm. On stage, he praised Johar as the best producer he has worked with and asked him for guidance as he explores producing.
A visibly flattered Johar responded with a heartfelt take on Hrithik’s journey in cinema. He pointed out that Hrithik has grown up around films as the son of Rakesh Roshan, worked behind the scenes as an assistant director, and made a remarkable debut as an actor — all of which, he said, naturally prepare him for a producer’s role.
Hrithik, smiling at the reflection, said the words gave him a confidence boost.
Talking about his projects, Mess revolves around a group of robbers who break into the home of a man dealing with OCD, only to realise they might be the ones in danger during a tense overnight standoff.
His other series, Storm, follows five women grappling with personal struggles and hidden secrets, as they get entangled in a dangerous scam linked to a housing project.
Earlier, Hrithik also paid tribute to veteran filmmaker M M Baig, who recently passed away in Mumbai at the age of 70. He remembered Baig as a guiding force in his early career, crediting him for helping with his speech and shaping him as an actor.
