Munmun Dutta Slams ‘Disgusting’ Behaviour of Indians at Tourist Spots

Mumbai — Actress Munmun Dutta has strongly criticised the irresponsible behaviour of some Indian tourists at popular travel destinations, calling such actions “disgusting” and harmful to the country’s image.

The actress, best known for her role in the sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, took to social media to express her anger after watching viral clips showing tourists allegedly damaging natural sites and behaving inappropriately at scenic locations.

Sharing a few images, Dutta wrote that such acts deeply upset her and tarnish the reputation of Indians abroad.

“This infuriates me to the core. Too many chhapris at loose. Wonder why someone would rather spend money abroad vacationing but not here in India. Because this beautiful country is being ruined by these disgusting people. That’s why these people attract racism abroad with such nasty behaviour,” she wrote.

The actress referred to incidents circulating online, including a video showing a car being driven inside the picturesque Pangong Lake and another showing men dancing semi-naked on snow-covered terrain at tourist spots.

Dutta, who frequently advocates for environmental protection, has often spoken about the importance of respecting nature and maintaining public spaces responsibly.

Apart from environmental issues, she is also known for her love for animals and regularly uses her platform to highlight animal welfare.

Recently, the actress shared a glimpse of her morning routine on social media, introducing followers to a newly rescued kitten. In the video, the tiny cat was seen sitting on her lap as she began getting ready for work, curiously watching her makeup routine.

Talking to the kitten in the clip, she affectionately addressed it while preparing for the day. She captioned the post, “New rescue littlest cutie kitty. Wants to be cuddled while I start my day at work.”

Dutta has been part of the entertainment industry for more than two decades and continues to be widely recognised for portraying Babita Iyer in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.
