Tara Sutaria Dismisses Viral A. P. Dhillon Concert Clip as ‘Fake Narrative’, Slams Paid PR Campaigns

Mumbai: Actress Tara Sutaria has addressed the controversy surrounding her onstage appearance with Punjabi singer A. P. Dhillon, dismissing the viral concert clip as a manufactured narrative driven by misleading edits and paid publicity.

On Monday, Sutaria took to Instagram to share a photograph from Dhillon’s recent Mumbai concert, where she was seen enjoying the performance and dancing alongside the singer. Accompanying the image, the actress posted a strongly worded message calling out what she described as false narratives circulating online.

In her post, she wrote that the evening was about music, love and shared memories, thanking Mumbai for the enthusiastic response to their song. She added that “false narratives, clever editing and paid PR campaigns” do not affect her, asserting that truth and positivity ultimately prevail. Sutaria concluded the note by stating that attempts to bully or misrepresent the situation would not succeed.

The controversy erupted after a short clip from the concert went viral, allegedly suggesting that A. P. Dhillon kissed the actress on stage. Subsequent shots in the same video appeared to show Sutaria’s boyfriend, Veer Pahariya, looking uncomfortable, which further fueled online speculation.

As the clip spread across social media platforms, netizens were divided in their reactions. While some criticised the actress for what they perceived as inappropriate conduct, others dismissed the moment as harmless stage interaction. The incident quickly became fodder for gossip, memes and relationship speculation, despite the absence of any confirmed dispute.

Sutaria’s Instagram post was widely seen as a direct response to the growing online chatter. Veer Pahariya also addressed the issue, clarifying that the viral footage of his reaction was misleading. He commented that the clip showing him was taken during a different song and not during “Thodi Si Daru,” the performance at the centre of the controversy.

The episode highlights how selectively edited clips and online narratives can amplify speculation, with the controversy driven largely by social media perception rather than verified facts.
